I took that cover to all the electric store around Los Angeles looking for one. I finally found one place that carries a Technics SL So the first Technics I bought was the SL in it still works and I have and use it to this day. It's my favorite turntable of all time. In my perspective Technics are high quality; high quality sound, high quality manufacturing and exceptionally durable, fantastic for DJing being able to handle decades of abuse being banged and scratched.
It's great to see Technics back in production. That being said I expect the best from Technics. What doesTechnics means to me? Quality, simplicity and durability. Best vintage technics Post by vinnie34 » 17 Nov Hi Everyone, I'm looking right now to buy a used Technics turntable, BUT I have a lot of questions to ask and want to be sure I will not fall on a bad model or bad turntable, like it happen when I buy my Dual CS a couple of weeks ago.
First question: With the exception of the mk2 model, who is too expensive for me, witch number models are good enough? I have to say that I prefer more a turntable with a pitch, it's very important for me, also a turntable with a conventional cartridge, who will give more choice when it will be the time to buy a new stylus or a complete headshell with a new stylus.
I don't care a lot about automatic or fully manual or auto-reverse or not. Second question: Direct drive? Belt drive?
